Bouclé Fabric

Bouclé fabric has an irregular appearance due to the extra loops in the weave. The fabric is made from coarse yarn or from already looped, bouclé yarn. The fabric has a bumpy, irregular surface. Bouclé is French for "loop".

Why bouclé?

Bouclé is a classic fabric. It gained a lot of fame through Coco Chanel. The well-known Chanel tweed suits were often made of bouclé tweed. This warm and soft fabric is particularly suitable for winter clothing such as coats, skirts, dresses, and of course (tweed) jackets. Furthermore, it is a popular interior fabric.
The yarns are extra visible in bouclé fabric. Exclusive materials such as ribbons, sequins and glitter yarns give the fabric a chic look.
